The WHY of Life?
                   The Question WHY

is probably the most powerful question in the
world. It is the reason, the passion, the
drive behind people’s lives.

         People with no W H Y
behind their LIVES live empty lives.

At least that is what I believe. I see the
fulfillment we derive from our jobs or careers
or anything we do as commensurate with the
passion or strength of WHY we do what we do in
the first place.

One of the last precious advices my father
dispensed during his last days was to ask
regularly why we were doing something. This
regularity he referred to was asking the
question everyday, when we pray:
to start the day
or at the end of it
or in between.
Do you love
your job?

Do you love
your career?

Do you enjoy
what you are
doing?

Whatever
it is?

If yes,
Why?

If not,
Why Not?
< back >
  • Why am I doing this and not something else?
  • Could I be doing something more than worth while
    than this?
  • Am I improving and contributing to someone else's
life other than my own with what I am doing?
  • Could I improve the way I am doing this thing?
My work style? My way of talking/answering/listening?
  • Could I let go a job to someone who can do it better
    that I can?
  • Can I allow myself to be guided into new and better
    direction?
  • Am I open to possible messages in all things that
    happen around me?

These were examples of his questions he suggested I ask
myself regularly so that I do not get into a rot but
more importantly to ensure I am doing something of real
value and service to my family and the community.

I ask this set of questions everyday:

Am I living my life to the fullest?
Am I living in the moment? in the present?
Am I loving truly what am I doing?
Am I lighting others' way with what I am doing?
Am I leading the way for others?

Am I laying any foundations with my projects or ideas?
Am I letting great opportunities slip through my hands?
Am I lagging behind in giving or helping or serving?
Am I last or first in saying my thanks  and appreciations?
Do I lose my faith when challenges come my way?

Without a strong why, a person will give up easily, will
be discouraged easily, complain easily.  I heard it said
by one speaker, "The bigger and stronger a person’s why,
the higher he can fly".  I couldn't agree more.

I worked and enjoyed a career for 25 years. I started
teaching at the age of 20. Click below to allow me to
share WHY I retired from my lucrative corporate
consulting career to return to teaching of children.

Allow me to share a part of my story, the story of:

It is the story of the crucial events that brought me to

My Personal WHY
